The work extends Sebastianes’ sculptural practice into a pop-up format, translating her interest in scale, repetition and exposed structure into an edition that unfolds in space.

Laura Sebastianes (b. Córdoba, 1990) is an artist based in Barcelona. She approaches sculpture through a language that operates as a continuous mechanism, where surfaces unfold across multiple layers and forms. Working primarily with aluminium and cardboard, she employs lightweight, ductile materials that allow her to manipulate scale. Through this gesture, she reduces common objects, artefacts and structures, developing a precise attention to material and form. This operation also informs her understanding of repetition: working at a reduced scale enables the extension of elements across multiple iterations, revealing their internal logic. Structural components such as screws, plates or supports recur throughout her work, forming part of a visual language that remains deliberately exposed. Her work has been exhibited at Halfhouse (Barcelona, 2026), Terranova (Barcelona, 2025), Lucas Hirsch (Düsseldorf, 2025), Sant Andreu Contemporani (Barcelona, 2024), Bio Gallery (Seoul, 2023), La Butxaca Màgica (L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, 2023), Caselli (Milan, 2022), Mayrit Biennial (Madrid, 2022), Sainte Anne Gallery (Paris, 2022), Grund (Berlin, 2021), Centre d’Art Tecla Sala (L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, 2021), Interface (Berlin, 2020), Matadero (Madrid, 2018) among others. In 2021, she was a guest resident at Fabrik (Burgdorf, Switzerland). Her work has been published in Cantinela (Barcelona, 2025).
