In «Rose, Marine, A Cock Blue, Pink», a casting call brings our protagonists into the frame: four crayons from the artist’s own box, the humble yet indispensable tools of her trade. Like the other actors in Glazova’s photographic scene studies, they are recruited from her studio, alongside her sculptures, working materials and personal belongings. Named after their colours, the crayons take on roles in a meticulously staged scene of reflections, magnification and projected images. Glazova photographs the arrangement, projects the image back onto the objects, then adjusts the lighting, scale and composition before photographing it again. With each iteration, the image becomes part of the next setup, allowing the scene to develop through rehearsal and revision. This particular scene began with Rose and Marine cast as Adam and Eve, before A Cock Blue and Pink made their entrance.
Tereza Glazova (b. 1996, Riga, Latvia) works across all media except sound. Her work takes cues from the visual languages, gestures and rituals of popular and digital culture, which she often picks apart, repeats or translates into something else. Growing up in post-independence Latvia between the East and the West, she brings personal memory and collective imagery into a practice concerned with how value, taste and meaning change over time. Her work has been shown at Kunsthaus Zürich, Kunsthalle Appenzell, Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève, Turnus (Warsaw), Autokomanda (Belgrade), and Liste Art Fair Basel 2026 with Sentiment, among others. She is the founder of the off-space and artist studios the apple and curates the exhibition series Studio Report.
